What are traffic lights?
Traffics lights are lights that help the streets to be more organize.
Traffic lights consists of 3 colours, red, yellow , and green.
They are big mechanical posts and lights that hang over our heads.
Colour codes of the traffic lights
The 3 colours of the traffic lights mean different things.
• Green lights means to go,
• Yellow lights means you should slow down,
• Red lights means you should stop.
There is about 2 lights per street, and 4 lights per crossroad.
• Traffic lights are used to make people safe.
• If one side is red, then the other side should also be red.
• If the pedestrians sees a red light, they could cross if the press the walk button.
• Traffic lights makes the cars have order of who’s going first and who’s stopping
What is the purpose of traffic lights
• Traffic lights are a big parts of our lives, but there was a period of time that these useful things didn’t exist.
• Back in the days, there where no cars and only pedestrians and horse carriages. There where tons of
accidents and the roads are very unsafe.
• Later on, there was a person who made lights and the polices lit them on the streets to signal stop and go.
• Later on, the lights evolved into our big lights over the streets.
History behind Traffic lights
Traffic lights are important because if there isn’t any traffic lights, the cars would ram pedestrians that are
walking by and it would cause a lot of accidents.
The road would be very unsafe and cars would just crash into each other not knowing what happens.

• Traffic lights decrease the chance of car accidents
• Traffic lights help drivers be more confident
• Traffic lights keeps the street organized

• Excessive traffic delays
• Increasing in rear-end collision
• Very expensive maintains cost
• Making drivers impatient and aggressive due to
traffic delays
Why Traffic Lights are Always so Bright
• Traffic lights are bright because cars in far distances needs to see what colour the lights are so they could
react to the signals that the lights presents
